The Painted Day

Kala Ghoda, Bombay. 2009.

When life throws a palette of colours your way
Step away from the wind.
For, if it is too strong as it will likely be,
The colours will quickly blur into one.
And where you could have painted your day brightly
It will now shiver in the bleakness of none!

Fun poem, Anil. It's true that colors are beautiful separate and carefully mixed...but when they are thrown together the usual result is mud. <3

Love the new poet emerging in you (or maybe you always have been one and I haven't read all of your posts). great poem.

A wonderful photo, and a verse to make one think.

Cynthia: Thank you. Very true. This will hold true for many other things as well.

Pink Dogwood: I was never much into poetry, actually almost never :-) Maybe you could call this 'fluid' prose than poetry :-)

Sundar: Thanks. No, it was not entered in any contest.

Bobbie: Thank you. I was drawn to the warmth in the scene near the open auditorium opposite Rampart Row, and let the shutter drop on it.

Gauri: Thank you.

Ajay: Thanks :-) I still prefer the one line and the quatret form :-)

I love the look of awe on the child's face and the pleased look on the Daddy's face. A happy moment caught by the camera.

I like both these last two poems very much; you do small jewels as well as big tapestries!

Darlene: Yes, the child was watching her father show her how to hold it against the wind, thrilled to see the wind whirr it so.

Lakshmi: Yes, they are beginning to.

Lucy: Thank you :-)

What sweet expressions of delight the father has on his face and the child is looking like maybe he doesn't quite know what to think and it might be dangerous. When life sends me a great palette of colors, I try to get upwind, but more than likely will get a lot on me.
